Founded by René Ramillon and Andrè Vincent in Grenoble, France in 1952 as an outdoor brand. The brand's name comes from a mountain village in the area called Monestier-de-Clermont. The '80s saw the brand introduce their down jackets for urban use. The bold designs were extremely popular in Italy among Paninaro youth. The luxury outerwear brand itself became Italian in 2003 when it was acquired by  Remo Ruffini.
